IKEA Malm drawers sagging? Don't throw out the units. Phone IKEA for free spare parts!

IKEA used to ship Malm drawer units with a drawer brace to prevent the drawers from sagging. Then they stopped including it. I'm guessing many folks chuck out their Malm units when this happens. However - there is an easy and free fix. Phone IKEA customer services on on 0203-645-0000, pick the option that you have already purchased an item. Speak to the customer adviser, explain the problem and ask for part number 123833 (1 support is needed per drawer), and the corresponding screws - part number 105344 - 2 screws are needed per support.
They will post them out free of charge.
Sometimes the customer service adviser says the part does not exist, or they don't have it in stock. Dial up again and speak to someone different, and hopefully they'll help out ok. If you google the phrase fixing-old-ikea-malm-saggy-drawers-free there is a page on SquarePixel which explains all, and it has an IKEA link which shows how to attach the drawer supports.

Do you know if this would be the same parts need for the Brimnes Draws. The left side of the frame on ours is bowed causing the drawers to drop.0

If you the part number you can order them online and they send for free. I think it's only small stuff though - nuts & bolts etc

Anything where you have the part number in the instructions (most available on their website) should be possible to order online. I've done it loads. They will even replace bits you've misplaced or broken through being daft.1

So, just keep ordering parts until you have a complete home?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18cW_yHo3PY
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?4 -
This is great, I notice this with one of my malm drawers the other day, ordered online and parts are on their way!

What else can IKEA replace? I see a lot of Malm Chests of Drawers on Gumtree and the like with the dividers/frame between the drawers broken (they're fairly slim pieces). Probably done when people open/close over-full drawers. Can you replace that part for free? Would bring a lot of damaged drawers back to good condition.0

I've bought replacement Malm divider rails off ebay. They're not Ikea ones but manufactured to be similar. Search for Front rail / spar / divider / partition for IKEA Malm Chest of drawers. I think they're on Amazon too now.
I, like many landlords, use IKEA Malm units on my rental properties. Now I don't need to throw out the unit when rails get broken.0
