SCS not delivering carpet.

I’m looking for some advice and to warn people off SCS. We recently moved into a new house that needed a lot of work doing. It’s been a real stress but we did it. Ordered our carpet over 5 weeks ago and were told we’d get a phone call when it was in the warehouse. We never got a call. I phoned SCS to chase it and we were given the 14th June as a fitting date. I was happy with that. We took a day off work so that I could watch the kids while my partner emptied the bedroom. My 8month old daughter is ready to move into her own room now which we have finally done up but we had to move the stuff from our room into hers until the carpet was fitted. So, everything moved, we phoned to get a time for fitting. An automated voice says they can’t give a time so we had to wait. 12pm came and no one had been in touch. So I rung them. They said they had tried to phone the carpet fitter but he was unavailable so they left a voice Mail. 4pm came and still no call. So I phoned again and was told that our carpet was in the wrong warehouse and our carpet fitter doesn’t cover that area. So, we are left with no carpet and were told that nobody can fit the carpet. I was told a manager would phone me. Nobody did. I’ve tried phoning again and there is still no manager available. So, I’m currently in a situation where I’ve paid over £600 for a carpet and fitting and have had no carpet, no refund and no call from a manager. Every time I call they just say a manager isn’t available and someone will call me. Nobody calls me. I left a review on trustpilot. Someone replied and told me to email them. They said they would get back to me. Nobody got back to me.  Safe to say I’m very unhappy. It might sound silly but it’s my birthday tomorrow and we worked so hard, so much stress to get this house ready to enjoy by my birthday. Now it’s not going to be and my daughter still can’t get into her own room that we have done up for her. Any advice on what I should do now?

If you paid by card it's worth contacting the bank to see if they can assist.

Companies like SCS are expensive, their double discount, half off lark is a load of waffle and whilst the actual carpets tend not to be excessively over priced they do tend to make up for it on the extras such as underlay, grippers, etc.

If the SCS order never arrives see if you can find a local store for the new order.
