Do you have a state pension?
Do you have an occupational pension?
You can obtain professional advice tailored to your situation.
You would tick "confirmed independent" and such other specialisms as required when the menu comes up on the left.

Where is this £400k? All in cash? Some in a pension or an ISA? Is any of it invested?
Keeping a good amount in cash is a good idea. Exactly how much is up for debate, though up to 3 years worth of spending could be good in your situation. The rest can be invested in the stock market. Top up your cash when markets are high to keep a good cash buffer.Seeing an IFA (or two) might be a good idea, if you don’t have experience in investing.1 -
Basically nobody can make any sensible comments without knowing more details about your situation .2
