picking up car and transfer of my old one - check the process
I am picking up a used car on Saturday and my old one is going to my daughter - id like to just do a quick sanity check on my timing and the process.
- Arrange for my existing insurance to switch to the new car and start from Saturday 19th
- Main dealer are taxing and also say they will do everything regarding the V5C for my new used car but should I expect to receive a new keeper slip from them?
- Daughter arranges insurance for my old car starting Sat 19th
- I do the keeper transfer online DVLA Saturday 19th to daughter (dvla web site has a different button to tick for 'sold it' or 'put it into someone elses name' so I was wondering what the difference is and does it really matter which option I use as long as dvla know the new persons details)
- *How does daughter tax my old car on Saturday 19th? - Can we do this using new keeper slip?
Have I missed anything out?
Many thanks for any input.

Yes, you should get a V5C/2 from the dealer. You'll need to use it to tax the car, if they haven't.Ant555 said:

I don't think it particularly matters, but may be relevant to some internal stats collecting.
Yes, she taxes the car using the V5C/2 from your V5C.1
