Morning all the sun is shinning but a nice cool breeze so not too bad today I will be going out later to Costc* and to collect a fan from Screwfi* other than that just the general tidy i need to list some more bits for sale on local selling site.
Gers mum sent some pieces to auction a couple of years ago and things we thought would do well didn't and tatty things that were damaged and a really old book on metals went through the roof
Hester How awful why can't people leave things alone that aren't theirs I hope karma gets them 10 fold
DP1 your granddaughter sounds adorable it made me chuckle how she had squeezed herself in the cupboard
Right better get on have a good day whatever you are up to stay cool stay safe xSlava Ukraini13 -
Morning All
Just had a late breakfast on my last day away
Will drive home later the scenic route I think to try and make the most of it
I have had a lovely 2 days and managed to get a new pair of sandals yesterday so all good
HH why people find it necessary to destroy other peoples possessions is beyond me and makes me cross
DP1 your story reminded of a few years ago we took the DGC away and DGS managed to get himself into one of the grab a toy machines when no one was looking he thought it was great fun ( we didn't As they had to search for the key to unlock it and if they hadn't found it would have been a fire brigade job!!)
Gers like you we had much the same issue when Dfil passed and we had to sort the house it seems so sad to me that history will just disappear
Wishing all the sad and poorlies well catch up again when I'm home

Morning all, late to the party but happy to report it is still sunny...Chopped down the rosemary bush last night when it was lovely and cool so now there are some roots to hoik out, easier said than done, and something to find to put in it's place. It has to be something perennial and something that doesn't care about rubbish soil and drying out soil. Uh oH, plant !!!!!! is coming! Just got distracted looking for new plants...Today we have nothing much on the cards, a load of washing, a change of duvet cover, ok, make that two loads of washing...I did try to stick to washing at the end of the week but now OH is back in work the amount of clothes to wash has shot up. I might list some stuff again to sell but honestly the amount of idiots who asked for it last time prompted me to just delete the item. Can I have this? Yes. Can I have it for fifty percent of the price if I pick it up now? No. Honsetly, they make it sound like they're doing you a favour, that whatever this thing is, I'm absolutely desperate to get rid of it....No my lovely, not that bloody desperate. Deep down, or maybe not so deep down, I am a misanthrope.Gers, it's a common theme these days. I bet my parents would be very annoyed to find out all the stuff they lovingly collected over the years is worth a tenth of what they paid for it, although at least they had the pleasure of loving it when they were alive, and for the most part, didn't collect for profit. At least your mum enjoyed her possessions
Scarlet, we won a twice yearly quiz in October 2019 and still have the trophy because of the pandemic...same as you, looking forward to the next one! Hester, how dispiriting and what a pain in the ***e! Not what you want to happen after a lovely time in solitude. Hope your insurance doesn't argue about it. dp1, that made me laugh. TA, try installing CCleaner and adding Adblock Plus to your browser. They clean out rubbish and stop rubbish happening. If you know anyone who is savvy, get them to stop any unnecessary programs from starting at start up. It'll run a lot faster when it's got less stuff to bloat it out. Hope you all have as good a day as possible with at little overheating as possible

Hi everyone,
Hester, what a pain in the arris. I hope you get it sorted out ok.
I love a quiz, I just have the sort of mind that collects and retains trivia which I can regurgitate at will. Years ago we were on holiday, the children were quite small but we went to the local village quiz, the prize was boxes of maltesers so when the kids got antsy Steve told them if they were quiet they'd get a box of maltesers at the end. Luckily we won so they got their promised treat.
DP1, they are such a joy aren't they, Esben is great but you have to have eyes in the back of your head. He's napping at the moment with Laura because he decided to wake for the day at 4.30. The men are golfing and I'm enjoying a few minutes before I go and tackle the bombsite that is the kitchen.
We are off to Cromer in the van tomorrow, just in time for the thunderstorms. Never mind it will be nice to have a couple of days away.12 -
Hello all, Late again Laura here !The weather clouded over yesterday but it was still very warm. I got the back lawns mowed (and the edges done
) and Mr Fix It decided to help me water the garden so he used the small bore hose which sprung a leak half way through. Cue me running to shut the patio doors before he soaked the lounge, some did get through and wet the rug just inside the door however he also got me in the process and I was dripping from top to toe before he managed to turn the tap off ! Sadly he'll never make a fireman 😥
Today the sun is out again and I have some ironing to finish off and washing to put out when it's finished in dancing in the wm. I also must do a freezer reshuffle, it seems I got a bit over excited when ordering the shopping this time and I still have a couple of loaves to shoehorn in. Ooops !Tea tonight will be something from the freezer and the last of the strawberries. I am hoping for a bumper crop of my own blackberries this year as I noticed the bush is covered with flowers and buzzing with bees.Hester so sorry about your car, there seems to be a lot of mindless vandalism in this country of late.dp1 your DGD seems to be a bundle of fun and the "cupboard incident" made me chuckle.Scarlett hope the appointment goes well.Gers sorry things were a bit up and down yesterday, hope things improve today.taff Oh! plant !!!!!!, now your talking ! Trouble with me is I look and look but do nothing 🤣NRA safe journey home, glad you had a lovely break.Apologies as I have forgotten AON so will wish you a good day, hugs to all and healing vibes to the poorly ones/family members.Take care allnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Good afternoon everyone
It's hot hot hot here but we have the blinds drawn and the fans going so it's just about bearable. I carry too much 'insulation' to tolerate the heat unfortunately.
My sister came to see me today with her latest grandchild. My sister had had the results from her pet scan and it was quite positive so it looks like the operation will go ahead in a few weeks time. She looked very well and her hair has already started to grow back so that was good. Her grand daughter was very wary of me but as soon as Phoebe came in, she was all smiles and gurgles.
I went out again last Saturday to our local farmshop just down the road. I had a little wander around the shop and then had to rush home as it was a bit too much out of my comfort zone but I will keep trying. On the upside, we bought the most loveliest sausages I have ever eaten so I have ordered some more to be delivered this time.
I was up very early so I made a lamb tagine for the slowcooker and the smell has been tormenting me all day. I will make some couscous to go with it and voila, dinner is sorted.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the day, make sure you have your sunscreen on if you are out and about. Take care xx10 -
Gers - we found that with Mil's items - she had inflated ideas of their value. Also tastes had changed - plates that were sold as investment pieces were no longer wanted in homes.
HH - what do they get out of vandalism. Spates of it happen here - a road has cars with wing mirrors broken - why?
We had a visit from a meter reader today - rare occurrence.
Mr F got a ys pie yesterday - so that will be dinner tonight.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
