Indigo Michael/Safety Net Credit complaints

Hi everyone
I hope I’ve started this thread in the right place. I have posted elsewhere about what’s going on in general but this relates to a specific company so wanted to highlight it separately for ease of answering/reading (which I hope is the correct approach!)
My partner has discovered multiple ‘payday’ style loans and accounts have been recorded against his credit file which are not his. One such account is for Indigo Michael (a credit card?) which is marked as ‘settled’ as of October 2020 and closed. However, it seems to have had an ‘arrangement to pay’ in place for about 18 months prior, and then before that it was being marked as regulary paid bar a few misses (but not by my partner!)
Upon looking we could only find that Indigo Michael is part of Safety Net Credit so we emailed them a complaint regarding a credit file mistake/possible ID fraud. The only response we got was an automated email asking that he verify his identity with then but this included all his personal details (including last 4 digits of his bank account!)
Obviously he doesn’t want to do this so he called them up but the person on the phone said the debt had been sold to ‘Lantern’ (who are not reporting to his file) and then they refused to speak to him.

We tried to complain via Resolver but have been sent the automated email asking for all his details again.
Does anyone know a better way to log a formal complaint with this company? Are we best writing to them directly by post? We’re trying to keep everything in writing but it seems bizarre that something we are logging as a formal complaint isn’t being treated as such but rather a ‘customer service query’. He is not a customer!

Write directly. Resolver just slows things down and loses things.1

Write, get free proof of posting from the post office. Sent first class, letter is deemed delivered after 2 working days (assuming correct address)
Mark the letter as complaint, give them 8 weeks to respond or issuing a rejection then you can start the escalation process.0 -
Safety Net Credit is linked directly to a bank account (it’s called Open Banking), these accounts can’t be created in the name of one person but linked to someone else’s bank account, so unless someone has ALSO created a bank account in his name, it’s more likely he is aware of the debt and denying it, or has forgotten it.On the credit report, does the account instantly default and miss payments, or is it a paid off account each month and then eventually defaults?0

Seems odd that a fraudster would pay the fraudulently obtained debt off (even going so far as making an arrangement to pay), that's not really the way fraud works.0

Hi
I was with Safety Net Credit from October 2015 to March 2020, every month the credit limit increased and just kept on borrowing. Thankfully I came Ito some money and haven’t had to return to them. I’ve put in a claim to see if I can claim some or all of the interest that I paid over this period of time. Has anyone else dealt with Safety Net Credit?
Thanks0 -
