    Morning all!
Sunny here again even though its supposed to rain! I plan on paying off my marbles (£70) on payday and that's another ticked off my list!

Also, I plan on making a packed lunch for alton towers to save myself some money plus it will be better and healthier for me. So popping to lidl after work for some bits.

I feel super good today. I feel more in control of my debts.

Congrats on plans to pay off the marbles card @jadewest94 - and good plan to take a packed lunch with you on your day out. The food at attractions is usually awful, unhealthy and really expensive. I can understand them cashing in on a captive audience, but why does it have to be so horrible? Best to take a few nice treats of your own.
I don't seem to have done much today.
Walked dog first thing, free exercise :)
    Checked banks
    Bit of a tidy up
Did a small shop at Mr S - is it just me, or is everything getting really expensive??
Seem to have sold a vintage dinner service which I like but never use on FB marketplace, it filled almost an entire large cupboard. Supposed to be collecting at the weekend - hope they turn up! In the meantime it is on the dining table - I must get it packed up ready to travel.
Also listed a large vintage / serving dish thingy. Great for salads etc for a crowd, but I have loads of bowls. Both items can go to my sales unit if not sold / collected, but it would be nice for them just to be gone.
Made guacamole for lunch, to use up the rest of the ripe avocados I bought from the market at the weekend - I paid £1 for 7 :)
Cut some of the new growth stems off the rampant loganberry bush. It would take up the entire garden given the chance!
OH cut back an overgrown shrub in the front garden
Went to have a cup of tea in DD2's garden this afternoon
Chatted to DD1 on the phone
    Watered front garden pots
Made corned beef hash for dinner, v. popular with OH
He can sort the washing up, as it was really too hot to cook!

  • Morning folks

@jadewest94 - well done on your marble payment! I would def take more food. Something that will survive in the heat... maybe trail mix? dried fruit etc?

Good news, I've passed my NEBOSH exam! I was hoping to get a slightly better mark, but on reflection, I didn't really feel confident on the way to answer the exam (as opposed to my knowledge) so I'm grateflu that I passed.

Today i'm in work, but they don't need me tomorrow so we'll be at m-i-l's all day. I'm sure she'll find plenty of jobs for me!

Bit gutted last night as I went up to the allotment and found that rwo of the potato plants had a bacteria rot called blackleg. I have had to dig tham out and get rid of the tubers. The ones that looked ok and showed no signs of rit, I boiled up straight away because they should be ok to eat.

    Only small things today
    :star: B/L/D from stores
:star: OH to do the housework
:star: Sort out meal plan and shopping list for next week

    Have a good one all

  • Morning all,

Well done @jadewest94 on the marbles. You have inspired me with your packed lunch for your day out tomorrow so I might do the same. Congratulations @carrielovesfanta on passing your NEBOSH exam.

I tried to put together a grocery order yesterday. I put everything I wanted into my basket and it had reached a grand total of... £12.27. I think I might try and go to the shop. It’s been years since I’ve been to a grocery shop but think going will be better than trying to make up the minimum spend with things I don’t really want.

Took my usual stroll this morning. The goslings are growing - a few weeks ago they were tiny balls of fluff now they are nearly full sized.

Emailed costumer services this morning for a refund on some shoes I had purchased a few weeks ago. Parcelforce were unable to find my address so returned them to sender (in Germany). I would have just left it but felt the money will be better in my pocket than someone else’s.

Work today. It’s not too busy so might watch Sewing Bee from yesterday.

    Have a good day all.

Lunch packed, car snacks packed. Just need to make myself look decent and then to start my journey for 3 hours! Excited as I haven't been to alton towers for ages!

    Afternoon all :)
We have had rain since last evening, nice gentle rain which will do the garden good :)
No watering needed - yay! Surprised how much colder it is though, warm cardi and socks definitely needed.
Dog is not impressed though, and is refusing to go outside
I had a very early night last night, as I didn't / don't feel great. Better now than last night, but still feel a bit fragile :#
Still, I have done a few things:
    Cleaned the bathroom and kitchen
    RM surveys tasks
Packed a dinner service that is supposed to be collected by a FB marketplace purchaser over the weekend (we will see!). Anyway, it is in a crate now instead of all over the dining table, and if they don't turn up, it can go to my sales unit.
No great plans for the rest of the day - no spending, will try to persuade the dog to go for a walk if the rain eases off.
  • Hope you had a nice day out @jadewest94

My friend and I managed to dodge most of the rain and had a rather enjoyable day. I did spend £1.70 buying two postcards.

Am trying to relax this evening. I’ve been finding that impossible.
