Switched car insurers but not asked to submit proof of no claims bonus.

I switched insurance provider a few weeks ago, new policy is due to start on Friday but I haven't been asked for proof of no claims bonus.
Has anyone encountered this before, pretty sure I've always been asked every time I've switched in the past? Is there now some sort of online system they can check without having to go via the customer?

Some insurers ask at inception, some at claims and some subscribe to a database that provides details if both your previous and current insurer subscribe.2

I can't remember the las time I was asked.

Some insurers don't ask because they are different brands of the same company so already have the information.
Some insurers only verify at the time of a claim.2 -
Same with me 11 months ago switching to AA.I specifically asked this question and the answer was we will ask for it in the event of a claim. So make sure you get the up to date NCB from previous insurer and keep it safe. I much prefer to get NCB and forward it at time of changing to a new one, NCB can easily be lost.1

Thanks, nothing to worry about then, first time I've ever not been asked and my old and new insurers are part of 2 different parent companies.

As per previous comments some verify online. I had an email the day after talking out my current policy confirming that they had confirmed my NCB and did not need me to provide proof.2
