Item held in customs

Hi, I’m after some advice regarding a purchase I made from France on May 12th that is being held in UK customs.

I purchased a sporting good costing in excess of £200 for use this summer and after conversations with customs, understand it has been put on hold for inspection and likely to take well in excess of 30 days to release!

I cannot take part without this equipment and am now in the process of buying another from the UK and would like to cancel / return my order.
Before I contact the seller I’d like to know my rights (if any) to A) return the item once it finally arrives for a refund; or B) request the item is released from customs and returned to sender.

You will need to look up french consumer rights. You have no rights under U.K. law as its not a British seller.
Look on the website where you bought it from for their returns policy and check it complies with french consumer laws

You have little rights with customs.
They go at the pace they go.
Your right ot return depends on the terms you agreed on purchase. Given its not a UK purchase then you need to look at French law/T&Cs
