Good Morning folks
I am thinking of installing a wall mounted TV in my dining room.
However, I do not have a wall socket for the aerial in that room. Would you advise to buy an internal aerial or would you use a lead to connect to the external aerial (on the roof) ?
Thanks

Depends on the signal and impossible to advise. If it was that simple big aerials installed high on the roofs wouldn't exist.

It is ALWAYS best to connect TVs to the main aerial system. The transmitter network is designed around the use of outside, rooftop level directional aerials.
But even that requires the signal splitting. Passively will lose signal cf only one and may make all reception poor... A powered splitter (distribution amplifier) may be needed (or already exist with a spare way if you are lucky)?
Some locations room/set-top aerial can work. A short wire in the back of the aerial socket centre may prove if that's possible.

I would advise never to use the poor quality OTA system in this country and just either use streaming or satellite. YMMV.
