Autotrader Email reply -previous sellers help

Hi
I'm selling my car via Autotrader
I have just received an email from a potential buyer, but I don't know how to reply to them
If I reply from my email account, they will have my personal email.
I can't see anywhere under my Autotrader account where there is an email reply - messages button
Am I missing something obvious, Autotrader itself says "Always reply directly to this email, as this allows us to keep your email address private."
but how do I reply directly

Sell your car to webuyanycar then you won't have pesky buyers trying to contact you.

If I was the potential buyer I wouldn't be impressed.

If you click reply does the email address look like its an address at autotrader or the potential buyer's personal email address. I am guessing that when you reply the reply goes to Autotrader, they can then strip your email address out and replace it with an an autotrader.com email address.

Yes it does, it's the Autotrader email so it is hidden
It's just not clear in the wording.
I was expecting a sort of message system
and yes, if it doesn't sell within the 4 weeks, I will try one of the buying companies

Have you checked what the buying companies will give you for the car?  Use that as the minimum you'd accept from a buyer identified through on-line advertising.

It is easy to create a throw away gmail address, I still have one I made to sell a caravan and have used it a few times when I wanted to stay private.
