Email from Teletext holidays

I've had an email from teletext holidays, they are finally refunding me after paying them in January 2020! However for them to do this I need to give them my bank name account number and sort code. Has anyone else had this email and is there any way of knowing if the email is legit? It's so hard to know if it's a scam or not.

Any advice appreciated.

what email address did the email come from?
It is not uncommon for bank details to be requested if they are refunding to the account - people regularly gave their account details every time they wrote a cheque
  • It's from update@comms.teletextholidays...
I'm just so wary and it feels counter intuitive to send these details when so much is being done to try to stop scams...
I do however want my refund!

Those details are on every cheque you’ve ever written - scammers wouldn’t be interested in them.
    It’s most likely genuine.

I queried this when I received a similar email from my TA. Instead I rang the customer service number and provided them over the phone. Knowing that I was ringing a genuine customer service number for that TA gave me peace of mind. For extra security, I closed the account immediately after the money had been received. (It was surplus to requirements anyway.)
