In some ways it's a bit easier. I've just bought something from the US using GSP. I have relatives in the US and sometimes will have something shipped to them and then they send to me. This time around it works out cheaper on GSP and an outside chance I could get a bit back. Plus it arrives without fear of me having to pay any more. When I received something from Amazon in the US (using a similar GSP system) it arrived quite quickly. Presumably with fewer necessary customs stops that speeds up the process.Spoonie_Turtle said:Oh, yeah the price is after the normal fees are taken out of course (didn't want to complicate things by specifying that as well).Archergirl said:Well not sure how it works “ and the seller gets the original price the item sold for.” But perhaps I will give it a go, people were always impressed with my super speedy postage but maybe it will take longer now ....

Just out of interest eBay have confirmed that these new rules apply to all sellers, including private ones- although I haven't had the message on any of my private accounts, possibly as I no longer ship overseas and am already enrolled in the GSP. Obviously it is unlikely that a private seller will be VAT registered so assuming not VAT registered and sending direct to an overseas buyer they would still have to take care of the IOSS part.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
