Garden boundary.. How do I work this one out

Recently bought a house which I've got the deeds for, but it is very confusing. We have 2 neighbours in front of us, and one either side of us & we all share a wired fence, but apparently it is our responsibility to maintain the boundary as the T is in our area. What we want to do though is build a fence around the garden but from where can I build it? It doesn't state any of this on the deeds. Where can I get this info from? Don't want to ask the neighbours for permission as we definitely want to get this done.

  • Why don't you build your own fence all the way round but slightly within the boundary?

Providing it is wholly on your land and does not exceed 2 metres in height (or a lower height if so specified by local bye-laws, or covenant(s) on your property), you can build a fence around the garden
