RAC renewal
I just got renewal documents from RAC for my policy. They are quoting £134 year after a call and classic 'I need to speak with my manager's I managed to get it down to £104.
What's the general experiance with RAC on this one? Is there a scope for further reduction or is this lowest they would go? It is for roadside rescue, nationwide recovery and at home breakdown.
I am aware other providers are providing the same cover at lower rates but somehow I am not comfortable with them outsourcing everything to local garages.

..probably comparable with the AA, (who despite being a "loyal" member for more years than I care to remember), still requires the annual phone call at renewal time to "barter" a reduction after they always seem to want to charge a stupid increase from the previous year in the hope I won't notice..NB I have read some pretty bad stories regarding the RAC's level of service? If I was not in the AA I would go with an "independent" alternative rather than the RAC...but that's just me....."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

I was with the RAC for many years with very few callouts, one was a miserable so and so (RAC employee). One was a local
garage who towed my car to their yard and decided it was not fixable in a short enough time so towed us home and
arranged a hire car.3rd was in an RAC van and he did everything in he could to get us back on the road.Couple of years back they went mad on then price and I left to go with GreenFlag. Same price I was haggling the RAC
down to but without the need to haggle every time.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
