Buying the house but not moving in to it for a while after completion

Can you complete on the house and do some work on it lets say for a month after completion and then move in to it?
I am FTB and renting a house. Looking to buy a house but that house would need new kitchen and floors done. I would like that to be dine before moving in. Is that going to be ok with a lender?

Of course. Otherwise its tantamount to saying you can never go on holiday for more than a month ! Just be sure to sleep overnight there at least once roughly mid point so you meet the usual 30 day vacancy notification period with insurance. Maybe sleep in the first or second night also.(FWIW my next door neighbours house has been unoccupied, at least at night, since March, so around 3 months, as its having a massive renovation. (during the day there's plenty of trades)2

My new neighbour said he would be 'moving in by Christmas'. It became a standing joke when he hadn't moved in after three years of renovations. He reminded me he hadn't said which ChristmasLove living in a village in the country side2

I moved into my first property a few weeks after purchasing it as I had some works done. I was living at home at the time, so I wasn’t needing to leave by a certain date. It allowed me to have the work done, without the upheaval of living there. I would stay there the odd night and I had lights on timers come on when I wasn’t there. Good luck0

YEs - you do need to read your insurance policy carefully to make sure that you are complying with the terms of your insurance - should be fine if you are at the property regularly doing the work, but do check
