in Cutting tax
Hi all
So my partner and i have just taxes the car mt partner drives.. I get standard rate mobility and enhanced care. I am deaf and i dont drive.
I have just seen that a nominated driver of a car for disabled 0erson can get 50.peecent off car tax.
Would we have been eligible for this?
My partner was concerned that if I use that benefit that pip would know on the next review that we use a car an take the mobility component away.

I suggest you ask on the benefits board:

Jeremy is right that you should ask on the benefits board. You may get a more definitive answer than you get here but, before my wife got a Motability car she claimed full exemption from car tax and it had absolutely no effect on her DLA claim.

You can possibly claim retrospectively? Note the need for a letter stating how the vehicle is to be used for your benefit from the registered keeper. They also need the original benefit award document (and will stamp it).
DWP won't care that this extra LRM PIP benefit (VED @ 50%) is being claimed - and probably won't ever know.0
