Symbio stopping me leaving

I've been with symbio for two months and I was getting massive estimated bills, first £99 the second £166 and the third £176, I stopped the dd for £176 as I was £70 in credit. They over estimated my usage by 1599 kwh. I tried to switch but they objected so no switch. I have emailed 13 times and got no reply, I've phoned 4 times, waited 15 mins to get an answer phone. I've submitted meter readings daily but no reply. Getting reminders from credit dept, I replied to this, no reply. I cant go to ombudsman yet and I dont want to have bailiffs at the door.
Anyone had dealings with this shower and if so how did you get on.
Cheers

If they overestimated by 1599 in one month they probably have your EAC wrong. Look at the original contract email and see what they have down as your EAC. They same happened to me, my EAC was 4000, but they had it down as 18000, and took a ridiculous amount the first month. After complaining they reduced it, but they wanted "evidence" so previous bills etc to do it, which at the time I thought was ridiculous, but gave them the bill anyway and it was changed and they refunded me a portion of the overcharge. I agreed a FIXED direct debit at that time.
All customers of symbio should go on a FIXED or SEASONAL direct debit, and not on the variable direct debit. At least that way you know exactly what is coming out of your account every month, and you can ignore there overestimate shenanigans and just provide monthly meter reads.

I always had more success calling them, but i suspect currently they are short staffed and getting loads of calls from new customers and peoples switching out and in. Keep trying. I suspect the email route is pointless if you've emailed 13 times. (it depends, have you emailed 13 times in the space of a few days? - they do eventually respond but are not usually that useful.)
