Switching To Scottish Power Via Quidco
Options
Advice needed please. Will I really get £61 cashback through Quidco if i switch to Scottish Power. Im sorry if I sound stupid but it seems too good to be true. Going through the energy swaping site recommended on MSE, i would only get £30?! If i am to swap are scottih power ok and how long would it take for me to get my cashback off quidco. Am new to all this MS business and would really appreciate some advice. Many thanks

Don't know, basil, but you will have the tracking confirmed, so you know it's due, just have to wait while SP pays Quidco. Have bought several items thru them no problems with being credited the money.
You need to compare with your present provider tho, and bear in mind that Npower give a £80 cashback too, tho a fixed contract.
The £30 giveaway from Energyhelpline and Moneysupermarket etc is small potatoes.
Other posts have suggested that shifting via Quidco several times a year is frowned upon. Lots of discounts and cashback incentives out there, tho I have opted for the cheapest supplier for low users, EBICO. However they are rapidly losing ground to other suppliers
I would like to see an analysis of the different incentives but fear it is impossible, depends so much on area and circumstances.
For example, If I moved to BG it would cost an extra £12 but going via Quidco that brings a net gain of £48 but is the poor customer service woith it. On the other hand Npower never comes in the top ten savings when I do a comparison, yet Atlantic and Southern Electric are well up there even being in the same stable as Ebico.
The energy providers have people paid to compare and set prices..
Maybe competition has forced BG and SP and Powergen to offer these discounts. Grab them while you can.
It's nice to see these incentives, proves that privatising was a good thing, and Ebico was the first company to simplify bills , no bulls**t, no reductions and low prices.
Have you done a comparison Basil??0 -
I got my £42 back from Scottish Power when we switched via QuidCo so they do track okay.0

I emailed Quidco about this as it said the £61 offer expired at the end of October. They took ages to get back to me but have now said the offer is only for £42 now for dual fuel (although they don't seem to have changed it on Quidco).
I was with Scottish Power for 2 years at my old flat and they were really good (good prices for duel fuel) and they have a good website where you can check how much your bill will be by entering the meter readings (you don't have to wait for a postal invoice). I always found their customer services good too. I am going to change back to them as I have been with EDF for a few months and they are a bit crap...0 -
There was another thread about the Quidco offer still being on their site after the expiry date. Based on what DRC has found out, it appears that it has expired and it's just bad website management (or intentional underhand behaviour!):rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0

thanks to you all for your posts, will maybe have a re-think. Was keen on swapping to scottish power for annual savings, but also £61 cashback was very tempting! If anyone can recommend any other tempting switch offers, i would be most grateful?! Back to the drawing board! thanks again0

Only thing you can do is email topcashback and quote the price they quote, take a screengrab as it still showing £61
Good Luck0 -
