Can someone else buy me premium bonds?

My grandmother died and my mum is due to receive her inheritance this month.y mum would like to gift me 10k, and I will simply buy premium bonds.
As I can buy premium bonds using a bank transfer, does anyone know if there is an issue with my mum doing this directly, by doing a bank transfer to nsandi with my bond holder num as reference?
Or will this flag a problem?
Cheers

Is it really a big hassle for her to just transfer directly to you and then you do the bank transfer to NS&I?0

I don't think either are a big hassle, it's just a simple question.0

Better to do it from your own account, less issues cropping up potentially"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Seems a pointless complication.1

Can she do it? Probably
Should she do it? Probably not
Seems overly complicated0 -

It would be classed as a third party payment and can create further administration and potential delays.

Too many 'what happens if...' here. So unnecessary.

It appears you cannot buy premium bonds for another adult, unless you have power of attorney.

I did see that when I googled, but as it's express .co.uk I didn't want to take it as 100%, also it doesn't explicitly say you cannot buy for someone else. Just that a poa can.Nebulous2 said:It appears you cannot buy premium bonds for another adult, unless you have power of attorney.
