    Spot on!
  • Thank you all for your comments.

Seemingly my only option is the threat of pulling out if a completion date has not been set by next week. Otherwise it goes back on the market. Who knows, it may be worth more now - 8 months on.

We're both ready to go. My solicitor and the EA are chasing and chasing and chasing the buyers solicitor who has all of the paperwork. Who knows, they may even be sitting on the buyers cash in the hope they don't claim the interest off them. There is little to no response from this solicitor, and we've been at this stage for about 6 weeks now.

How long do you wait and chase?

It would probably be quicker for the buyer to cease the services of her current solicitor and take her business elsewhere, surely.

As I've said, this is a no chain cash buyer sale (it doesn't get much easier), and we've managed to sell and buy another property (3 times the size) in half the time this one has taken. Appreciate some people defending their fellow solicitors, however everything points back to a poor solicitor in this instance unfortunately.

A no chain cash buyer sale does make it simpler, but it makes no difference if there are legal issues, such as title issues or if enquiries haven't been satisfactorily answered by third parties.

The buyer can chase his solicitor.  The buyer is far more likely to get the correct information as he is their client.

In order to give you proper advice, we would need to know the exact issue, but it seems you don't know.  Your transaction does appear to have taken a long time, so I have to assume that the issues are nothing to do with it being a no chain cash buyer.

    And you know this how?

Yes I'm sure the pennies earned in interest is worth it.

The size of the property makes next to no difference how quick the transaction goes.
