Previous NCD when cancelling car insurance early.

Due to a change of car I'm looking to cancel my existing insurance policy and take out a new policy.
I have a full 1 years NCD from the previous policy (April 2020- April 2021).
Renewed in April 2021 with the 1 year NCD so currently 2 months in.
Change of vehicle required now, (June 2021), but the current insurer is uncompetitive with the new car.
Much cheaper to start a new policy now (June 2021) but with using the 1 year NCD.
So, my questions are, am I ok to cancel the existing policy and use the proof of 1 year NCD to start a new policy?
Will the existing insurer have to provide a new proof of 1 years NCD or will the previous proof be ok. (Have had no claims, accidents, etc, within this 2 month period)
Thanks for any guidance.

You have to cancel the existing policy before the new one starts otherwise you'll have issues.
For short policies some insurers will still issue a proof of NCD whereas others will tell you to use the old one/return the old one. Your current insurers should tell you their process.1 -
Ok. Thanks.
I will check when cancelling.0
