2019 Clio 9.3 Display Problem
I bought the Clio in August last year ex-demo with 2000 miles on the clock. I noticed about 2 months ago the display was fussy in a certain area. I took the car to the dealer and they said scratches on the screen is causing the problem and implied I had caused them. I am the only person to drive the car and have only used the microfibre cloth provided by Renault. I have only driven the car 1600 miles; I cannot think of anything I have done to cause the damage. I very rarely use the screen because I use Android Auto. I have attached a pic and the damage is about a third from the left.
Any thoughts or advice will be appreciated, Thank you.

If there are scratches on the screen now, were they there when you bought the car ten months ago?
The fact they did not cause an issue for the first eight months of your ownership suggests not.
Scratches don't just appear from nowhere.0 -
Have you been washing the microfibre cloth?Life in the slow lane0

I've got one of these and haven't had any trouble with the screen, then again I don't tend to clean inside or out!
I have had the radio go on start up once or twice, a load of crackle like there was some interference from the engine. Turning the unit off and back on again seems to sort it. Sods law it never plays up at the dealers!
You might want to have a look at some guides to polishing out scratches from things like mobile phones and iPads screens.
There are a few products designed for plastics and acrylics that might cut that back.
Once or twice I've used a cream and a liquid version of something that was designed to polish canopies and visors for the RAF that worked a treat on things like plastic rear screens in convertible cars, I think it was called something like Greygate Plastic Polish.
The paste is quite course, the liquid not so. Obviously you do this at your only risk, you might want to test it out on an old phone screen or something.

Thanks for all your replies.
I have only used the microfibre cloth supplied by Renault, never washed it. I only clean the screen about once a month as I only use the car once a week to do the shopping. I understand the scratches have come from somewhere but I expected more durability from the screen since it is meant to be touched.
I have now solved the problem, I bought a screen protector and applied it. The scratches have now disappeared and I am happy with the result. I hope this helps anyone else with a similar problem.

How have you kept the microfibre cloth? If anything has got onto it, it could leave scratches.0
