Countrywide & Friends Provident

Options
Checking back through old files I found a Personal Protection Plan from Friends Provident that Countrywide told me I had to have when I took out a mortgage in 2008.

Did anyone else get this or have they claimed it as mis-sold?

Undoubtedly. People declared mis-selling on everything from PPI to Kit Kats.

But the window for complaining has now passed.

Thanks but this is a different type of insurance and I’m keen to understand if anyone else had it.
  • Undoubtedly other people have had it but also if it's any sort of PPI the deadline is gone.
Further, you may have been told you had to have it because you DID have to have it e.g. if Countrywide earned their fee from commission of selling products or the mortgage lender required it.
In 2008 Countrywide would have been regulated so undoubtedly would have followed a comprehensive paper trail showing you agreed to it and everything was checked to ensure it was suitable.

Most people take out life assurance (or other similar) to cover their mortgage.   Why do you think that is wrong?  Are you immortal?
