Three

Options
Hi all, I really don't know what to do and would be very appreciative of suggestions.

I cancelled a three contract within the cooling off period, three's error meant that they thought I owed then for the contract and since February I have been chased by debt collectors. I've spoken to 5/6 different advisors who always tell me they've sorted it and yesterday I finally lodged a complaint and they admitted that up until the 7th of June they hadn't removed the charge they'd wrongly put on my account. I thought I'd finally resolved it until I got another message from the debt collector today. I don't know what to do? I've been harassed for months for money I've never owed and every time three claim they're doing something the debt collectors still come!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm so worried it's going to affect my credit score & to add insult to injury, they would only compensate me if I had a three account.

Thanks for reading!

It seems that it's already been solved. If they only confirmed the error yesterday, it will take time to unwind the DCA. Just direct them back to Three.

Don't worry about the impact on your score. As long as the data is removed and is correct, that's all that matters.

Tell the DCA you have a dispute with three as the debt has invalid charges on. They should confirm with three, in fact they should cease all attempts to collect whilst they contact three to verify
Assuming the charges are incorrect, Three will offer you settlement - most likely to correct the balance and inform the DCA. You can accept that or reject and ask for a deadlock letter if you believe you should get compensation. Then it's off to the ombudsmen.

Part of the resolution should be to remove any defaults from your credit files, ask if they don't offer, so once that is corrected, no detriment.

This is an old thread, I appreciate, but as a warning to others, Three are still doing this - I've had pretty much exactly the same experience, as-yet unresolved. Fortunately not yet at the debt collector stage.
