NS&I not able to deposit Premium Bond wins into SANTANDER savings account

Since December 2020 last year, Santander has rejected Premium Bond wins into my savings account, I have checked and rechecked that sort code, account name and number and roll number details are all correct, but still they are rejected. This despite the fact that NS&I deposits monthly interest from Income Bonds into the very same account just fine. Can anybody help with this? I have phoned NS&I three times and they have tried to reset the account but to no avail.

Has NS&I changed permitted destinations of payments for Premium Bonds and they no longer permit Savings A/c's?
Have you tried changing your NS&I profile to get them paid into a current account ?

May be an incentive to review whether there are better accounts than Santander savings elsewhere? E.g. a Virgin current account with attached savings account?

You could easily use another bank account and transfer the money to satander when it arrives.

This is what I do.

Winnings in to Nationwide current account and then transferred to their Start To Save account at 1%.

Normally still have to top up the transfer to hit the £50 though    (My luck will change, hopefully)
