Where can I find mine?! 🤣

Buyers solicitor is requesting a copy, I’ve checked all our paper work from purchasing the house but can’t find one. I don’t remember it being flagged that there wasn’t one when we bought either.

We had a NHBC certificate when we moved in.

Also, should my solicitor be sorting this?

Thanks in advance!

Sorting what? You've been asked for a certificate, if you can't find it then fair enough there's ways getting round it, but I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "sorting this".

They're there to complete the transaction. They're not there to do your filing.

Presumably you're looking for it because your solicitor has asked you whether you have a copy? If you don't, then you say to your solicitor "no, I don't have a copy". They'll take it from there, one way or another. It can be sorted.

Thanks @user1977 my mind went into panic mode and I didn’t think of simply just saying ‘I don’t have one’ and taking it from there. I’ve searched high and low for it too!

@TBG01 I probably should have used the term ‘advise’ as opposed to sort - in reference to the fact that I don’t have a copy and what to do next. Of course I don’t expect my solicitor to do my filing - but thanks for confirming their role nonetheless.
