Hi
I received a letter from capquest saying I owe the £460 from an orange account. Don't know if I did the right thing but I called them up. They told me the last payment made on the account was in 2010. This is the first contact made with me since then that I can think of. Shall I contest the amount or just pay it? I'm really struggling at the minute, business about to fold and loose my rented property. Had another letter regarding crystal legal services, I'm really at my wits end. Any help or advice greatly received. Thank you.

On the basis of the sparse information provided, the Orange debt would appear to be statute-barred. This means that any court claim raised for it should be rejected by the CCBC as the last activity on the account was more than 6 years ago. (I'm assuming you're in England or Wales). If by some chance the CCBC processed the claim without spotting the date difference then you'd have a statutory defence that the claim was statute-barred.Jenni x1
