Default and CCJ reported for the same debt

I had a credit card reported to the Credit Reference Agencies as a 'Defaulted' account and then received a CCJ for the same credit card.
I stand to be corrected, but is it not wrong to report against the same account twice. It seems I am getting hit twice with the negativity that comes with a default and a CCJ for the same account. I would have expected the CCJ to have replaced the Default as an update on that particular account.

A county court judgement, and a default, are two separate things entirely.
You got the default because, I surmise, you failed to maintain the contracted repayments, for whatever reason.
They then took legal action against you, and won, now the judgement is recorded on your credit file.
Two wholly separate things, one does not replace the other or vice versa.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
