Sorry I meant from may 2020 to may 2021 (including may 2021 so 13 months) but the last one may 2021 must be the new amount you just quoted, all the others are the £341.92. I hope they respond to my journal entry tomorrow.

Right, yes got it. (And actually it should be 12 x £341.92 and 1 x £343.63, to account for LCWRA going up from April.)

Hmm, the 12months and 1 higher month add up to £4446.67.  If that's the amount that went in, they've missed off the first 4 months when doing the calculation.  If that's not the amount that went in, then absolutely no clue and the possible brain fart that led to it may remain a mystery!

Edit: cross-posted as is often the way

Probably a daft question, but is ESA not a taxable benefit?  Could the difference be tax?

The payment received is a UC payment not ESA. In any case, although you are correct that ESA is taxable tax is not deducted at source for taxable benefits.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Okay so got an update on this for now,

So what happened is when they added the LWRCA the award also removed my carers allowance for 5/6 months so that needs to be corrected and added back on but it's been sent to a specialist to look at apparently.

The other thing I'm really cross about is they said they offset a 'small' overpayment of £633 due to other benefits we received between august 2019 and october 5th 2019

During this time I was on UC as a single parent, me and my husband had split and I thought it would be permanent he went to live at his dads and he claimed no UC. So I know its because of this. Our joint claim restarted 23rd October 2019 and they can see this so theyve wrongly taken the money. Or if they want to keep that money they can backdate me the couple element which is 200ish more than the single one I was claiming! This is so frustrating.

When our claim restarted they issued an overpayment for ESA for the correct period we were together and on UC and ESA  this is not in dispute and is being recovered via DWP debt management.
