initial Parking - White Moss Carp Park Grasmere - help rquested

Hi - we received a £100 PCN (£60 if paid in 14 days) from Initial Parking on June 5th relating to an event on May 30th.
Basically, we were blocked in (very busy BH weekend) and finally got out 50 mins over the 3 hours we paid for ( I paid for 3 hours when we arrived). In all the commotion I forgot about the car parking ticket.
Before finding this section of the website (and then reading the newbie thread) I appealed through the online form stating what had happened. They rejected the appeal. I then emailed them using the blue text in the Newbie thread but they have replied:
"As you have already appealed this Parking Charge Notice, we can confirm we have fully investigated and made the decision to uphold the charge.

 As we have fulfilled our obligation to take into consideration your first appeal and still uphold the charge, we will not look into any further appeals.

 You were provided with a POPLA code in our previous communication, please refer to this code and the instructions found there in order to lodge an appeal with the Independent Appeals Service if you are not happy with our decision"

Have I ruined the chance of successfully appealing? I could go down the POPLA route but then it is £100..

I'd try POPLA anyway, as admitted driver, then ignore them when you lose.  Come back if they try a small claim.  This is nothing unusual and most cases don't go that way.
