POPLA rejection now debt collector letter

I parked in a Morrisons car park - operated by Euro car parks - for too long and got a PCN of £85. I was ill and took painkillers that make me too drowsy to drive. I appealed and they said I didn't phone to alert anyone of the issues I was having. I tried the number and an automated message said there were no operatives due to the coronavirus pandemic. I decided to appeal to POPLA. They rejected it on the grounds that I had overstayed the 2 hours clearly stated on the signage and that it was not for them to look into, or waive, any fines on the basis of any mitigating circumstances. I didn't hear anything further from Euro car parks but have just received a letter from a debt collection agency demanding £155. I've read the threads on here but am still not sure what I can, or should, now do.... I'm worrying about it

    Wait and see if they sue you. ECP are not prolific.  In the mean time, find out who owns that car park as Morrisons don't use ECP, so a managing agent probably contracted them and they can cancel any PCN, usually.  It's about finding the right ear to complain to.
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    When you read the NEWBIE sticky, what did it tell you to do about debt collectors?

    Thanks.... Helpful comments. I've read the threads and the gist is to ignore but I'm worried about the costs stacking up, bailiffs, court action against me. And the MAS website was a bit of a scary read.

    If you were taken to court there is a court fee of £25 and solicitors cots of £50.  NO EXTRA COSTS
    If you lost you pay as instructed and NO CCJ and NO BAILIFF

    BUT, right now you are being contacted by sewer life, suspect it's DRP who you ignore, pointless clowns who have lied to you.   YOU DO NOT OWE £155 .... IT'S A SCAM

    NEVER CONTACT A DEBT COLLECTOR

    As Beamer says it is a scam, well at least £60 is likely to be unlawful, read this and complain to your MP..

    Excel v Wilkinson

    At the Bradford County Court, District Judge Claire Jackson (now HHJ Jackson, a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge) decided to hear a 'test case' a few months ago, where £60 had been added to a parking charge despite Judges up and down the country repeatedly disallowing that sum and warning parking firms not to waste court time with such spurious claims.   That case was Excel v Wilkinson: G4QZ465V, heard in July 2020 and leave to appeal was refused and that route was not pursued.  The Judge concluded that such claims are proceedings with 'an improper collateral purpose'.   This Judge - and others who have since copied her words and struck dozens of cases out in late 2020 and into 2021 - went into significant detail and concluded that parking operators (such as this Claimant) are seeking to circumvent CPR 27.14 as well as breaching the Consumer Rights Act 2015.   DJ Hickinbottom has recently struck more cases out in that court area, stating: ''I find that striking out this claim is the only appropriate manner in which the disapproval of the court can be shown''.

    @Bellies Which Morrisons is this?
    @Coupon-mad could it be a local thing as our local Morrisons has signs up for Euro Car Parks?

    Although there's never any "warden" on site and I've seen a lot of people who can't park properly to save their lives...
