Engineered wooden floor & stairs

Options
Hi, I want to lay engineered wooden floor and stairs in my first floor flat (London). I've already taken up and disposed of the carpets. The flat is around 80 square metres. I've been quoted £7800 including VAT for labour and materials including:
- levelling the floors - they are very wonky floorboards from 1930s
- good quality underlay
- installing engineered wood in two rooms (18 sq m and 11 sq m)
- cladding two staircases in engineered wood
- installing carpet in bedroom (25 sq m)
- removing and replacing skirting boards
Does this sound reasonable? This is higher than I was hoping for but I think the stairs are a bigger job than I thought.

  • I've been quoted £2600 for labour only to lay parquet engineered floorboards in two rooms and clad a short staircase in same, approx 50 sqm (London).

We are paying £3200 for 45 m2 of engineered wood flooring, underlay, fitting and skirting removal and replacement.  Not London.   Your quote sounds reasonable.
