Having issues because of an Iva

My husband is getting a mortgage. He got accepted with a dip, but after around 6 weeks, his financial advisor has said that there’s some issues as I have an Iva. I’m not going on the mortgage bearing in mind. The financial advisor has said he’s trying to fight the case, but is putting into another mortgage company and is awaiting their dip. He says he has a plan? I don’t know what to do? Is the fact I’m on an iva going to ruin it for my husband? I’d never forgive myself if it did!

Hi, are you going to be living in the property? A lot of mortgage lenders don’t like it someone living at the property is not going on the mortgage due to credit issues 😓
hopefully your broker finds one that’s not so picky.0 -
Well then unless you were both credit checked due to income/expenditure, how would they know about the IVA ?
If your not on the mortgage application, then your situation is irrelevant surely ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Ok, well it should not be the end of the world type scenario here.
Many ex bankrupts/insolvents are able to obtain mortgages, I think the general advice is to use a good broker, as there are lenders out there who will say yes, all you can do is trust your broker I guess.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. He’s not being too negative about it. He’s said he has a plan, so I’m hoping he knows what he doing? It’s just so disheartening0
