Buying seized foreign plate car
Options
Hi,
I just found a lhd car seized by UK government. The seller is providing border force letter which will indicate me as new owner. Car doesnt have MOT but he is saying you can do UK mot and it will be valid in uk and eu. I can get insurance easily. Am i good to drive to Eu to register the car with this setup?
Is there anythere i can confirm this info?

What country's plates are on it now?
When did it arrive here?
What country do you want to register it in?
As far as the UK's concerned, it's a foreign-registered vehicle. It can be used here for a maximum of six months in a single visit, or six months in any twelve.

It must be legal in the country of registration at all times it's on the road during that six month period. It cannot be driven here at all by you if you're a UK resident.
The only way you can be sure it's legal is if you trailer it away from the storage, and don't use it until it's UK registered, except for the MOT... or trailer it straight out of the country.0 -
Sounds like a lot of aggravation & potential problems to me.
