ESSE Century 52 oil range

Hello, we are renting an old farmhouse and we have an ESSE Century 52 oil range burner/cooker/hot water supply etc but cannot see how to turn it down?.. anyone remember these and can advise? The only think I can see is a as the pic below and wonder if this is the oil control (yellow arrow). Thank you

Have you tried asking the people from whom you are renting? Failing that, here is a manual, not the same model (cannot find that) but might give you some clues.
