Hello everyone
When I moved into my house the bath had been replaced with a rather large walk in shower cubicle by the previous owners.
When I moved into my house the bath had been replaced with a rather large walk in shower cubicle by the previous owners.
I have small children so would like to reinstate a bath with shower screen and keep the current electric shower over it.
Is this something that would be possible as a DIY job seeing as a bath was previously there? Husband Fairly competent DIYer!
It has a fairly awful high step into the current shower.

Some pictures attached. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I don't see why not, but it's a big job as it involves plumbing, flooring, tiling

You will be unable to use that bathroom for several days. How many others do you have?
It's a big job. Will you be helping?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
It’s our only bathroom but my neighbour has already offered us use of theirs for baths/showers.Yes can get help from family.0

Certainly doable as all the pipework for the bath is likely to have been capped below the level of the shower tray.

The tiles will need to be hacked off. Then rerender the walls. And, whoever is doing this work will keep stopping every time someone wants to take a carp?grumbler said:

Yes. I don't see any problem if it's a husband with a small family. IMO, a tradesperson even for a day is a bigger problem.GDB2222 said:

Anything is DIYable if you're competent enough, it's just going to take much longer and there's always a chance you might run into snag or an emergency situation which a professional on hand could solve straight away. You can see from the newer set of (badly laid) wall tiles where the bath was originally so he may want to remove and retile once the bath is in place. All the necessary plumbing should be in place.4

A DIY job with regular stops to refer to notes / YouTube and pausing with uncertainty will take you too long.
A plumber could have that ripped out in half n hour and a tub fitted in another hour.
Are you going to remove the old tiles and replace or do you have the same as spares? This will reduce time and costs.
