What do 14 yr old boys like ?
Sorry i only read this and thought 14 year old girls:rolleyes:0 -
ATv is all terrain vehicle- quad biking- make sure it's somewhere that gives them a safety briefing first- like I said, it's thrilling, we'd all do it again in a minute, we're 37,38 and 9.:D There was a Dad on our day trip who had his teen sons with him, and they were having a great time too.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Depends on whether you have an ice rink nearby, but when ours were that age we used to take them to watch our local ice hockey team on a Sunday evening. There's loads of families go and it's a great atmosphere.
I only went once to an ice hockey match and I'd agree it was great fun! Bowling too is good and see if he can take along a mate as well.0 -
Why not ask the 14 yr old what HE would like to do - it will only be worth doing if he is willing to do something.
This hit the nail on the head - find something your son likes that can be joined in by all. All the others are good ideas but if your 14yo doesn't buy in then they're probably wasting your time and money.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
We seem to be having a similar prob with our own 14 year old son atm. He never wants to be seen outdoors with us if any of his mates may see him!! But he still does enjoy our company though. It usually has to be watching dvd's and eating pizza (especially movies for 15's!!) as he is 14 1/2 i don't mind as it makes him feel a bit more grown up:rolleyes:
Also sometimes we bring his nintendo wii downstairs and play the games together with him.
Apart from that it's dog walking that he doesn't mind doing with us, he was reluctant until 6 months ago when we got him his own puppy;) This helps keep him fit as he is not a sports lover!!
The suggestion about taking one of his friends along with you when you go out is a good one, and does work well if you want to go to the cinema together etc,as i think they feel it's more acceptable thenMurphy's No More Pies Club member # 140 - lost 40 lbs

try www.goape.co.uk My son and partner (not his father) have done this together and really enjoyed it
Climb the trees and slide across high wires, crawl through tunnels, cross rope bridges, walk the planks and zip down to the ground!
Go Ape is an award-winning high wire forest adventure course of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip slides up to 40 feet up in the trees. Appealing to a wide age range, customers are fitted with a climbing harness, given instructions, and then trek from tree to tree high above the forest floor. We now have 12 courses located around the UK.
It takes approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete a course; however this may vary depending on the busyness of a course.

We volunteer at the local RSPCA and take dogs walking - the kids love it and it saves us having to have a dog ourselves!!! Other things they love are watching basketball locally, bowling, they love the Go Ape thing, but its really expensive and its not something you can do all the time. Go karting is great for boys also.0

How about watching rugby? Your nearest Guiness Premiership side will probably have some names you recognise from the recent Rugby World Cup - Sale Sharks (who we support) have Andrew Sheridan, Sebastian Chabal, Luke McAllister, Rory Lamont, Jason White, Juan & Ignacio Fernandez-Lobbe amongst others ..... and there are loads of youngsters there - male AND female 14 yr olds!0

Go karting? Let him take a mate a well, less pressure on him and he'll have a better time.0
