Buying new builds Off plan

Has anyone purchased a new build off plan before? How was your experience?

    Yes and it was no problem as I can read plans and drawings and understand them. I was also able to get more electric sockets as I could see exactly where they were and needed more.  I used a small builder who regarded us as a valued customer, not one of the large multi nationals who build by the hundreds.

    You probably need to be a bit more specific with your question.

    For example, do you mean buying a property from a well known reputable house builder - perhaps on a large development?

    Or, for example, do you mean off-plan properties where you hand over tens of  thousands of pounds to an 'unknown' developer in advance - and risk losing it if the developer goes bust.
