My internet keeps dropping, and has been doing so for some time, I only use wi-fi, I have to go into available networks, disconnect then reconnect, sometimes I have to restart the laptop,  I have spoken to my broadband supplier, I have 6 names written on my account letter, and a few I forgot to get or write down, so I can quote them back.
I purchased a new H.P. laptop with the same result, so returned it.
I have changed all the filters twice, 3 phone connections in the bungalow, it is connected to the main plug, but on a splitter filter with telephone, hard reset on the router, and moved my router away from anything else electrical. I have 2 echo dots, a kindle fire and my smart phone which also lose connection, most recent conversation was last Friday, said they cannot see a problem but suggested I turn off things I am not actually using, if I ask what time is it in the iddle of the night, which I often do, reply "no connection, reset your router" I was also not getting full speed, 24mbs ? was mentioned I should be getting 35+ pay extra for faster. Refering me to openreach
Just done a speed test Ookla, ping 21 ms, 23.20 mbs download, 3.37 mbs upload, any one have any good suggestions, willing to buy a router as supplier not keen on sending another as it`s not 2 years old yet, I did reply that doesn`t mean it`s not broken.
Do I need it or just want it.

    Who is your provider?

Make sure filters are used everywhere you have a phone connected. Switch off all devices that can connect to your internet and repower the router and wait until it fully connects and the lights are green. Switch on your laptop  and connect to your router's IP address (usually 192.168.0.1) to check the connection settings. If all running OK then connect your other devices one by one.

Yes filters on all connections, even the one with no phone, SSE, had them for years, just renewed and upped to a fibre connection.

You should check in your router to see if Internet is dropping or wifi is dropping .

Connect to the router via an ethernet cable and see if the internet connection status is still up. You need to log in to your router as I explained earlier. Also, have you followed the advice in that earlier post?

    |nstall Inssider https://www.metageek.com/products/inssider/ which will tell you all available wi-fi networks in your area and which channels are the best. (The lower the number the stronger the signal). It could be many are using your channel. You can then switch channel via your router settings. If the router has the option switch to 5G. There are videos on Youtube like this guy (who is one of the best) to improve wi-fi speeds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgJiVjcbX-Y

    Hi
    Things to consider...
Initial connection is into the TEST socket on the BT/OpenReach wallbox.
The telephone extensions NEED only 2 wires, 2 and 5 connecting, if there is a third wire, 3 the ringer, it can cause problems.
This eliminates ant problems with the internal house telephone wiring.

If you have a Mobile phone, then you can check the Wi-Fi coverage / connection, for a PC you could try...

The above is my current reading/rating according to OpenReach, you suggest yours is circa 24 --- 4
    If in doubt please ask.

The easiest test is to keep the laptop next to the router and see if it drops the connection.
If it is a WiFi issue, the ISP can't be blamed because more likely than not it will be due to your house (thickness of the walls, material, distance, etc.).
If the connection doesn't drop while using the laptop close to the router, it means that you need to improve the WiFi by adding an additional access point, using powerline adaptors, etc.

Would you Adam and Eve it, Alexa lost connection last night whilst I was watching T.V., so I turned it off at the wall, left it probably 30 mins turned it back on, so far today no loss of connection. This usually happens after a reset, but will go off tomorrow.
Thank you all for your suggestions,I will wait to see if it goes off again, I actually do have 5g and 2 other accounts,  one of the suggestions was to switch between them.
