Can’t get the main channels on Humax PVR

Bought a cheap oldish Humax PVR off a car boot sale, I’ve tried to tune it in but can only get some free view channels, not the main ones, is it old technology ready for the skips?

Frreview  or freesat?  I'll assume freeview.  Guessing you also mean you can only get some standard definition freeview channels as opposed to high definition (101, 102...) ones?  Does the aerial lead you're using work when connected directly to a TV?
    EDIT. what's the model number.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

Factory reset and retune with a direct connection to the aerial point .

I'm still using a 2006 Sagem pvr and it picks up all the main channels but obviously only in standard rather than high definition.

If your TV picks up the main channels when connected directly to the aerial then your pvr should be capable of tuning into them. Make sure the aerial connection into the pvr is a good fit. Also, check the signal strength of the channels that work. There is usually an option to do this within the settings. My Sagem shows both signal strength and quality.

Also be aware that weather conditions can affect the signal if you are in a dodgy area. My transmitter signal is fairly weak and poor weather can result in missing channels at times.

9200T is really only fit for the skip today.
    1) It's SD, DVB-T only
    2) It's scart output - so only usable on older TVs with such inputs
    3) It's just OK on a Freeview Lite transmitter but with any main transmitter site the internal memory is so limited as to make the EPG unusable, with lots of blanks on the channels it tunes in.

There is a solution where manual tuning of only some multiplexes (two or three is the limit I think) makes it sort of usable as in Lite areas (only two DVB-T multiplexes in those).  But money is better spent on a newer machine (9150T and 9300T also suffer from the same issue).

Former 9200T owner who gave it to charity in 2016, when it was, even then, long past it's sell by date.
