BA wrongly refunded me Avios points instead of money. Still waiting after three months!

I booked a trip to Greece in 2019 for summer 2020 and used 11000 (worth £80) of Avios points as part of my booking, and took Future Vouchers in May, as the flight was not cancelled, but I did not want to travel. Later last year I booked two trips using these Future vouchers, one to Munich in August 2021, and one to Vienna in September 2021. In March 2021 both flights were cancelled so I opted for a refund for both. The Munich flight was refunded with part cash and part Avios points (11000) which was fine. However, the Vienna flight was refunded, but wrongly. Upon contacting BA, over three months and speaking with lots of agents, they admitted that one of their agents had wrongly refunded me an extra 11000 Avios points instead of my £80. This was because both Munich and Vienna flights had been cancelled at the same time. I asked them to take back the 11000 Avios points and give me the £80 which they owe me. I don't want 22000 Avios points, I want my £80 and 11000  Avios points, which is what it should be. They said it was with their refunds team, but I have rung and rung, I have emailed and complained. They keep saying it is with their refunds team and I will get it back but they cannot guarantee when. My credit card cannot do a Chargeback as the original flight was booked in 2019.  Can anyone suggest what I should do next please?

    How long has the case been with their refunds team?

    Sign up to Flyertalk and go to their BA forum.  Then send a PM to BA refund helper who was on the forum to help with refunds when this first started. 
  • BA sent it to their Refunds Team on 7th April this year!

    If you have any use of nectar points, 11,000 converts to £88 of nectar points.

  • It might be worth you ringing up again & start the conversation, politely, asking for their complaints procedure. 
    We had a BA flight cancelled in April & whilst the airport taxes were refunded immediately, we were told it would take a different team to refund the avios points. Life got in the way & it was only weeks later we realised that we hadn't been refunded. A call quickly rectified that.

    as a side issue they also forgot to refund the car hire & again we hadn't realised until after what would have been our departure date. When I phoned up I was told we were down as a 'no show' but they promised they'd look to see what they could do. At that point I asked what their complaints procedure was, just in case.....strangely enough we were refunded in full 2 days later
  • Failing any help from BA couldn't you sell them ?
