Hello everyone
I've just been having a catch up of the last couple of days whilst eating my tea. On Thursday I went to Edinburgh for the day. I'd been asked out for lunch by a lady who was a great friend of my first husband - it had been about 27 years since we'd last seen each other! It was a bit strange at first but we had a good chat. I got in touch with her during the first lockdown last year - mainly to try to get it touch with him - but it turned out he'd died in 2018. We've kept in touch since then.
Yesterday I looked after my little great-nephew for the day - he's 4. We went on the bus into town, had a picnic at the park, a play on everything and a walk by the river to see the swans. Then we had ice cream sitting in the sun before another bus ride home. Five minutes later he asked ' what will we do now?' A very long play with lego, a trip to the field to play football and then a play in the sand pit in the garden.
Little one arrived after nursery and was a bit put out at first , but they were soon kicking the ball round together. Like everyone else, they've grown up a bit without seeing much of each other. Only had them both for an hour , the my niece picked great nephew and little one was fast asleep by 6.30pm.
She woke a couple of times in the early hours, which is unusual for her, but then slept till after 8, so that was nice. DD picked us up and we went into town for lunch - she dropped me off and I've had a lovely peaceful afternoon. I got several jobs done and then spet a long time reading in the sunshine.
Gers - pleased you're getting help sorting your mum's flat.
Snoozer - I think it was you mentioned your grandson loving 'Down in the Jungle.' Little one came back from nursery asking me to sing it - I googled it and found a lovely version ( and lots of other nursery rhymes) on BBC Sounds. I don't know how many times we sang it in bed this morning!
Well, going to wash up and then have a bit longer in the sun. Hope you're all ok7
