What's wrong with my tap?

Old taps, old plumbing in the upstairs bathroom. The hot tap starts off fine when turned on then slows to a trickle really quickly. All water pressure in all other taps including the shower mixer in the bathroom are fine. I thought it was fine the other day but I might have imagined it as its doing it again last two times used.
Any ideas what's wrong? Annoyingly the bath is wood panels and the access hatch is at the non tap end.

Hi Mizy. This will be a conventional 'washer' tap - one you turn multiple times? Most likely it's the innards of this tap - something weird happens like the hot water expands the threaded screw and this shuts off the flow, summat like that.If you dismantle the tap - can be done without removing it - clean up the parts inside and thoroughly lube them with silicone grease, almost certainly it'll work fine again. The other thing that can cause such symptoms is an air lock, but I doubt very much it's this since all the other hot taps work ok.2
