Hi
I was given a gift voucher to use in my local restaurant. I didn't get to use the voucher as lockdown happened. The restaurant now has new owners but still under the same name.
I have asked them if i can redeem my voucher they have replied no
Does anyone know my rights? It seems very unfair
Thanks

You have no rights, I'm afraid. The purchaser of the voucher has the consumer rights, and what those are will depend on the exact nature of how the restaurant was acquired by the new owners.1

Although they are not obliged to offer you anything, you could ask the new owners to give you a discount as a goodwill gesture.0
