That doesn't make it right. Irrespective of the fact a parent and child bay has no legal standing, as a pregnant mother covered by the Equality Act 2010, you should not have been asked to move the car.I married my cousin. I would have marched into the store (well being 38 weeks pregnant, maybe moved slowly) and got hold of the highest authority in there and told them exactly what I thought of their discrimination against me, citing the Equality Act and then saying you were off the to the nearest Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Waitrose/AN Other Supermarket and never to darken Tesco's doorstep again!5

Sazzy1253 ..... Tesco have a big problem, they hate customers with cars.
They also appear to hate women giving the ruling the other day by the European court which will now cost them £millions.
And as Fruitcake said, they used the word FINE ..... that is a no go in private car parks and the operator being Horizon should know not to use it.
Again as Fruitcake says ..... Equality Act 2010.
Tesco should seek out the person who told you this rubbish as he or she has made Tesco liable for a hefty fine if you decided to go down that route.
We all would love to hear the answer from Tesco please.
Personally like many others, I will never spend any money in Tesco as they have he worst customer service and an apparent dislike of money paying customers

Odds on, what has happened here, is that an employee of the shop is friends with someone in the vehicle, and "reserved" them a space, when someone else parked in it, the employee ushered them out so his/her friends could use it. A sort of low level cronyism/favouritism .I'm of the opinion that so called parent and child spaces are no more than a gimmick, and not a very good one at that . on the surface they seem to be a good thing, but as soon as you dig a little deeper the cracks begin to show.Supermarkets have been around for a long time ( 1960's??) and the basic model of these places is to invite people with cars to visit - hence the large car parks, fill up a trolley with more shopping than you can carry and transport it all home again in your car - why go anywhere else? - to the detriment of the high street. Where these places exist near town centres they often have clauses in that state that the car park should also be usable for people visiting local facilitates ( ie the high street / town centre shops) in an attempt not to completely kill off the local high street.P&C bays are a relatively recent development , some of the issues is that they can cause confusion and a false sense of entitlement, there have been cases on here where people have used disabled bays as no P&C bays were available , ad that they take away from the legally required need that provision must be made for those with disability'sFrom the Plain Language Commission:

Twelve seems a bit old. They are being signed up for football academies at younger. They can surely walk to the store.

Had a nice note from Britannia about parking in one of these bays, so I asked them for the statute law that applies and they went very quietSignature Space for Rent
Don't be confused by the low post count on this account, I've been around many years.....3 -

This is one of the problems I have with these gimmick bays. An adult is allowed to park their car in a wider than average bay because they have a fit, strong, eleven year-old rugby/football playing athletic child in the car, but an old codger like me trying to fit an ironing board in through the back doors isn't allowed to use a wider bay without getting a £100 scamvoice from an unregulated parking company.I married my cousin.
