And paying roughly for a 4 bed detached with just me and insulated loft/wall for elec and gas approx 800 pa1

£33 a month with Shell...I bed gas central heating...£80 in credit1

2 bed mid-terraced built 1997, I pay £50 month with Octopus, I think this will creep up to £55 later this year.Double insulated loft and double glazed windows have better closure seal so not draughty.Some years ago I cleaned out the wet heating system and made a few improvements to controls and made sure the radiators were balanced correctly. I get the boiler regularly serviced. <--- doing this can make a difference.All light bulbs are LED now. I still have the fridge and the freezer from 1997 so they're probably guzzling a bit more electricity.1

Over the last 13 months, I've spent less than £565 on gas and electric in an old 2 bed flat in Scotland. That includes the negligible amount due to WAH and there's an electric shower.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1
