Why would you be entitled to a new one ??Consumer Rights may entitle you to the value of a five year old one , not a new one .Currys having lost your product can give you the value of a five year old Imac .Your Insurance you would need to check what that covers and if after five years they will give like for like or replace .0

If the fail 3 times to repair the product then they replace it, also if repair taking longer then 7 days they should replace it. I paying insurance/extended warranty for something...JJ_Egan said:Why would you be entitled to a new one ??Consumer Rights may entitle you to the value of a five year old one , not a new one .Currys having lost your product can give you the value of a five year old Imac .Your Insurance you would need to check what that covers and if after five years they will give like for like or replace .0 -
Yes, and you need to establish what that something is. If that's to provide you with a brand new replacement in these circumstances, then that's what you ask for.Ada23 said:

(If the fail 3 times to repair the product then they replace it, also if repair taking longer then 7 days they should replace it. I paying insurance/extended warranty for something... )Thats what we are asking .Does your insurance say 3 repairs fail we replace ( like for like or new )Repair taking longer than 3 days >> they should replace . Is that the policy or your opinion .Insurance covers what is set out only .READ your insurance policy and see what it actually covers .1

Of course it is policy and agreement I signed. Why on earth I should have this opinion if it wasn’t a thing?JJ_Egan said:(If the fail 3 times to repair the product then they replace it, also if repair taking longer then 7 days they should replace it. Lots of people post here under various misapprehensions, poor advice they've heard from others, etc. If it's not clear from your post then we need to ask.Ada23 said:

If it's this one, then the OP does indeed qualify for a new replacement:
http://www.knowhow.com/uk/repair-and-protect/computing-care-plan.aspx?country=uk
Though, if they've been paying an insane £10pm or thereabouts for the past 5 years, they've paid out nearly as much as the replacement cost in premiums anyway...No free lunch, and no free laptop

The one you found is similar to the one I have. Mine agreement saying 7 days promise not 14 days.macman said:If it's this one, then the OP does indeed qualify for a new replacement:

Yeah we purchased team know-how insurance together with our imac. I just hope that even if they found it they will keep they agreement promise and finally repair it or replace for a new one. As I need it for work as recently broken my back on stairsmacman said:Surely it's rather fortuitous if they really have lost your Mac? You took in a faulty machine that is out of warranty, and they'll have to compensate you with a working equivalent, or a cash payment in lieu.
Sounds like you got lucky.
In future, do not purchase any kind of add-on insurance cover; it is dreadful value for money, and DSG typically mark the price up 100% on what you would pay if you bought it direct from the provider.
We waiting now 72h for investigation to end.
And I am sorry if not everyone could follow up with my story. I am being emotional ahout this case and english is not my first language.Sorry to hear about your back, however that will make no dfference unless you have business cover on the policy.
