argos refund

ordered online and cancelled less than 12 hours later ,recieved an email confirming cancellation but it will take 7-10 days for money to be refunded !:mad:

    That is just the standard stuff most retailers say, in reality in will be a couple of working days

    if they can take the money within 12 hours a refund should be processed in the same way

    It's not down to Argos, it's how long the banks take to send you the money. It takes the same time to send/take money but they quote a time to cover themselves.

    i think it takes about 3 to 4 working days though the bacs clearing system

    pizzahut can manage a refund on a debit card the same evening

    In reality as previous posters state, it does take a few days behind the scenes.

    It depends on your payment method too I think. Years ago switch used to take up to several weeks to credit back compared to credit cards.

    Everything has to go through a clearance system. Your payment to them isn't immediate, it takes days.

    So, I'm guessing that Argos want to make sure your payment clears before they even refund it back to you. It still seems lengthy though.
