Utility Point holding on to money owed after switching from them

I switched from Utility Point to Scottish Power on 1 Jan 2021 and am still waiting for my final bill to be made up and the money I am owed to be refunded. I am owed in excess of £300. Despite numerous phone calls and repeated promises it would be sorted I am still waiting, over 5 months after the switch. I keep being told that they haven't received the readings for the Electricity despite receiving readings for the Gas!

You should have raised an official complaint with UP ages ago and taken it to the Ombudsman. Do it now. In the meantime, get on to Scottish Power and ask them to resend the opening reading to UP.

Definitely open a case with the ombudsman. You will be due compensation.
